Enjoy your own piece of paradise in Maya Beach, Placencia. Two secluded bungalows, Flip Flop #1 and #2, on the beach capture the refreshing sea breeze and offer a true Belizean experience.

Enjoy a true Belizean bungalow experience at “On the Beach,” in Maya Beach, Placencia, Belize. If you want to escape crowds, this is the place. Located at Mile Marker 15.75, Placencia Peninsula, Stann Creek District, 8 miles north of Placencia Village and 6 miles north of the Placencia airstrip.

Private bungalows with 170’ of oceanfront beach. Each newly remodeled bungalow includes a queen-size bed, sofa, living/dining area, covered front deck, and well-equipped kitchen. We offer kayaks, bicycles, a private pier, and WiFi. Pools, bars, and restaurants are within walking distance.

Enjoy birds and wildlife. Snorkel off the shore near the coral reef 100 feet from your private pier with a crow’s nest lookout. Kayak to False Caye, walk to local bars and restaurants, or relax in your hammock overlooking the Caribbean Sea.

Bungalows accommodate 2 people. Kitchens have a full-size fridge, 2-burner stove, coffee maker, microwave, toaster, blender, and utensils.

To get here, fly from Belize International (BZE) to Placencia (PLJ) via Maya Island Air or Tropic Air. Auto and golf cart rentals are available in Placencia. Alternatively, rent a car at Belize International Airport and drive via Hummingbird Highway (3½ hours) or Coastal Highway (2 hours). Transportation is recommended.

Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATION POLICY

AirBnB: Full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 days before arrival date. 50% refund for cancellations made at least 7 days before arrival date. No refunds for cancellations made within 7 days of arrival date.

VRBO: Travelers who cancel at least 60 days before check-in will get back 100% of the amount they've paid. If they cancel after that point, they will not get a refund.

LIVit Belize: Full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking, if the check-in date is at least 14 days away. 50% refund for cancellations made at least 7 days before check-in. No refunds for cancellations made within 7 days of check-in.

Other Booking Services: Per their specific cancellation policies. Except as expressly provided in this Agreement, refunds or compensation will be given if the property is unavailable for any reason outside LIVit Belize control including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government agencies, or mechanical failures.

Amazing place right on the beach super secluded and peaceful with its on private pier. Was great to hear the waves at night. Only problem was the WiFi did not work. The manager give me access to another wifi but that did not work either so an issue if you want to do any remote work while staying there. Other than that amazing stay in a great location in Belize

Nick glad you enjoyed your visit. We do have a very powerful 1,000' radius WiFi booster. Unfortunately when the electricity goes out it requires a manual reset. Due to my fathers death I was not able to be onsite to reset it. We will resolve this issue in the future. Hope to see you again.

This stay here was perfect. It was better than the pics. I thought that a place with a matching red fridge and microwave was really cool. Sergio our super friendly maintenance man was just spot on. We had a little issue with the septic system and Sergio immediately sprung into action digging up the pipe that the palm roots did their thing to and fixed the problem immediately. Everyone involved with this property was awesome. As well as their recommended services like Marvin from Leo’s car rental, just up the street, was extremely accommodating and helpful. I love Belize and Maya Beach. One of the friendliest countries I have ever visited. I’ll be back soon. One love, Respect!!

As a local you understand that it not only costs us the replacement cost but the shipping and taxes to replace damaged items. The bungalow was perfect for a quiet vacation spot. Close to great restaurants in Maya Beach and only a 30min golf cart ride to the village for shopping and more great food! We extended our stay a few days because we just couldn’t get enough of the beautiful surroundings and peaceful time spent here. Listening to the ocean 24/7 was absolutely perfect!

Mark is a great host and very knowledgeable of the area. He spent a good amount of time with us discussing things to do, places to eat and answered a lot of questions that we had about local real estate and the short term rental platform. The place is very clean and plenty spacious and well maintained. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

I took a taxi from Placencia Airport and we missed the location as the sign was not visible going south and we ended up at Flip Flop Palace which I thought was it...but it was not. Found help and Host communicated with them found location. BEAUTIFUL beach bungalow that was better than the inside pictures showed. Very well equipped and thought out! Bed super comfy and linens fresh and top notch! Kitchen fully equipped and shutters on all sides which lent to tropical breezes of plenty! Clean and organized! I did love this location with the exception of the LOUD street traffic and 2 barking dogs across the street tied up all night! The next day I discovered that the ambience included hammering and sawing of the home being constructed right next to the beach condos located next door. I decided 2 travel south along the beachfront to a couple of small beach resorts that offered full use of their pool and chaise lounges that had no construction or street noise. I decided 2 move.

The name of the resort is "On the Beach" and not Flip Flop Palace. The unit number you stayed in was called Flip Flop #1. The resort has a large sign outside with the name of the resort "On the Beach" and is located at mile marker 15.5 north of the airstrip and not south. All this information was sent by email 2x before arrival.
We offer an ocean swimming pool thus the rock jetty in the ocean. The ocean is very accessible around the jetty or 50' of access on the other side or the pier. Ocean is also accessed by a swimming deck at the end of the pier with steps leading to the ocean.
This is an unattended property meaning no staff on sight. Chair cushions if lost (wind, misplacement or simply damaged by guests) are not considered damaged by Airbnb and unable to recoup the cost. Possibly you were looking for an all inclusive resort vs a private Belizean Bungalow experience on the ocean.
Regarding noise - there is a 10' wall around the resort. South of the resort is a vacant lot then established homes. Across from the resort is established residences. North of the resort is an adjacent resort and then a vacant lot with a home being built. Depending upon the building stage of the home will depend upon the type of construction. Unfortunately this is something not under our control and the noise level can change on a daily basis.

Really enjoyed our stay in Maya Beach - the bungalow was absolutely adorable with many little amenities included adding a nice touch. Loved the private oceanfront setting...the only bummer was the large amounts of brown seaweed that seem to be everywhere so we couldn't swim at the location - but that was Mother Nature's doing, not LivIt Belize. 🙂 The ocean breeze was wonderful for staying cool and the sound of the waves at night was peaceful and calming. Only thing I wish I would have known was that the golf carts rent out and should be reserved ahead of arriving - was able to find a rental car though to get around and see and do many things! Would definitely recommend this cute bungalow and hopefully will be able to return again in the future!

Beautiful setting, modern amenities, lots of towels, shower is fantastic and the fans were truly incredible so having no AC was no problem! Sunrise was awesome everyday! Book this place you won’t be disappointed.
Rent a golf cart or car ahead of time! They seem to run out. Sunshine scooters saved the day!
