Prime Minister Barrow has decided that Land Title Transfers involving foreign nationals will no longer require the approval of Belize Central Bank.  Since there has never been a rejected application by the Central Bank this will speed up the sales transfer of the lands department having to wait for Central Bank approval. Currently Land Title Transfers from Belizeans to foreigners are assessed a stamp duty fee of 8% compared to 5% for Belizeans.

New York Times recommends Belize
