Centrally Located
Belize District is centrally located between the northern and southern boarders and was the first area of settlement by Europeans. Situated on a peninsula is Belize City, the gateway to the country.
Ambergris Caye (largest Caye) and Caye Calulker are located within this District as well as the International Airport, Municipal Airport and the water taxi system.
Considered to be one of the premier scuba diving destination in the world, it features the Southern Barrier Reef, Glover’s Reef Atoll, Turneffe Islands Atoll, the Elbow, Lighthouse Reef Atoll, the Blue Hole, Half Moon Caye.
Belize City is the nation’s principal port, financial and industrial District.
